Crystal chandeliers hanging among the pines. An entire bridal party in white. A checkerboard dance floor filled with bubbles and guests in black bow ties. This Chalet View Lodge wedding brought a little ballroom glamour into the forest, and we are very much here for it.
Set in Northern California's Lost Sierra, the celebration paired soft white details with the deep greens of the surrounding landscape. There was romance in the draped ceremony arbor, beautiful texture at every place setting, and plenty of personality once the wedding party hit the dance floor. Come for the bridal fashion. Stay for the bubble guns.
The Bridal Look
First, a closer look at that dress.
The bride's gown featured a softly scooped neckline, a fitted bodice, and a pointed waist that gave way to a full, flowing skirt. The smooth fabric let the shape take center stage, catching the light along the bodice and falling into generous folds below. A long veil completed the look, trailing across the grass in the couple's portraits.
Beside her, the groom wore a white dinner jacket with black trousers and a black bow tie. Together beneath the arbor, they looked perfectly at home in the wedding's white palette, with the forest providing all the color their portraits needed.
An All-White Bridal Party
If you have been saving inspiration for bridesmaids in white, this lineup deserves a spot on your board.
The dresses shared a color while leaving room for individual style: halter necklines, slender straps, off-the-shoulder silhouettes, and skirts with slits. Gathered around the bride, the different shapes gave the group portrait a lovely sense of movement.
Bouquets of white blooms and loose greenery tied the looks together. Against golden meadow grasses and tall pines, the effect was fresh and wonderfully romantic. It is such a pretty way to let texture and silhouette shape a bridal party's style.
Vows Framed by the Forest
The ceremony setting carried that same softness onto the lawn.
Rows of white chairs faced a wooden arbor draped in airy white fabric. Low arrangements of white flowers and greenery marked the aisle, keeping the view open toward the trees beyond. Sunlight filtered through the branches, catching the folds of the fabric and the little clusters of flowers beside the chairs.
One of our favorite frames shows the groom dipping the bride beneath the arbor, her veil and train stretching across the grass. The sweep of the drapery overhead echoes the movement of her dress. A very good argument for giving your ceremony backdrop a second moment in your portraits.

A Moment in the Meadow
The meadow portrait brings a different kind of romance.
Surrounded by golden grass, the couple stood close together beneath a wide blue sky. Dark pines rose behind them, making her white gown and his dinner jacket especially striking. The scale of the landscape gave the photograph a quiet intimacy, with the two of them tucked into one sunlit corner of the frame.
For couples dreaming of wedding photographs with a real sense of place, this is the image to save.

Bring on the Bubbles
Then came the checkerboard dance floor, and the photographs take a delightfully playful turn.
Wedding party members in black tuxedos and white dresses made their way across the bold squares as bubbles drifted through the air. Bubble guns appeared in the middle of the action, sending shimmering little spheres up toward the chandeliers. Sunglasses stayed on. Arms went up. The forest became the backdrop for a very lively celebration.
Nearby, guests leaned across the dinner tables with glasses raised for a group toast. It is a lovely companion to the carefully arranged table photographs: the same beautiful setting, now full of people enjoying it.
Congratulations to the newlyweds on a Chalet View Lodge celebration full of romance and such joyful moments. We will be thinking about those chandeliers in the trees--and the bubbles beneath them--for quite a while.

Dinner Beneath the Chandeliers
At the reception, crystal chandeliers hung among the trees, with strands of lights crossing overhead. Below, white linens and wooden cross-back chairs brought the elegance of a dinner party onto the lawn.
The place settings are worth zooming in on. Ruffled white plates were layered over pale, textured chargers and paired with patterned glassware and silver-toned flatware. Printed menus, finished with pearl-like embellishments at the corners, added a small decorative flourish. White flowers, greenery, and slender taper candles continued the palette across the tables.
We love how much there is to look at within such a simple color scheme. The scalloped edges, textured glass, and tiny menu details give an all-white table depth, especially with the greens of the forest surrounding it.
